TWO key things should be always there in SLB Don Bosco – a special school for those disabled people without having listening capability- in Wonosobo District, Central Java, Indonesia: dedication and patience.
But these two things are sometimes not enough to train these deaf young people in SLB Don Bosco.
Still, there should also be strong compassion – a sense of loving and taking care others but mostly the disabled people.
FC’s SLB Don Bosco in Wonosobo
It happened to Titch TV while our being in Wonosobo District in the Indonesian Central Java Province to meet Mr. Albertus Heru Handoyo Putro in SLB Don Bosco this mid March 2024.
He has spent more than 20 years to teach and train the disabled people in SLB Don Bosco – a special school for the deaf people owned and run by religious brother congregation known as Charity Brothers or in our Indonesian term: Kongregasi Bruder Karitas or FC.
Drum’s loud and noisy voice
By using a big drum producing a very loud and noisy voice, Mr. Heru trains young deaf boys to react and this is measured by their physical gestures and movement as their physical responses to the drum’s voices.
This is daily routinely done in Bugeri Room that means “Ruang Gerak dan Bunyi” that is located in a special room in this very vast compound of the school.
