The Ninth Week in Ordinary Time
Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus

Dear my friends,
Here is the Gospel for us today according to St.Luke 15:3-7

Jesus addressed this parable to the scribes and Pharisees: “What man among you having a hundred sheep and losing one of them would not leave the ninety-nine in the desert and go after the lost one until he finds it? And when he does find it, he sets it on his shoulders with great joy and, upon his arrival home, he calls together his friends and neighbors and says to them, ‘Rejoice with me because I have found my lost sheep.’ I tell you, in just the same way there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who have no need of repentance.”

This is the Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ.

TODAY is the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. Pope Pius IX instituted the Feast of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus in 1856 as Jesus himself told it to St. Margarete Mary Alacoque.

The Sacred Heart of Jesus is the heart of a true Shepherd. His Sacred Heart of Jesus pours out its merciful love on each of us. Surely, Jesus Christ came into this world to love us more than anyone else ever could. There is nothing that makes the True Shepherd happier than to give his life to the sheep.

In the Gospel today, Jesus compares himself to a shepherd. As a True Shepherd he gives more importance to the life of his flock than to his own life. Even, he dies in order to give us life.

In the Perpetual Adoration of the Eucharist we adore Jesus Christ,  the Good Shepherd who has laid down his life for each of us, his sheep. He wants us to be safe, to thrive, to grow and be strong in his merciful love.

Let’s pray: Lord Jesus Christ, you want to set us on your shoulders to carry us back to your merciful Father. You follow us until we are ready to surrender to you. Teach us to know that our devotion to your Sacred Heart is a devotion of love. Lord Jesus Christ, meek and humble of heart, make our heart more like yours now and forever. Amen.
