The Third Week of Lent
Dear my friends,
Here is the Gospel for us today according to St. Luke 11:14-23
Now he was casting out a demon that was dumb; when the demon had gone out, the dumb man spoke, and the people marveled. But some of them said, “He casts out demons by Beelzebul, the prince of demons”; 16 while others, to test him, sought from him a sign from heaven. But he, knowing their thoughts, said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself is laid waste, and a divided household falls. And if Satan also is divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand? For you say that I cast out demons by Beelzebul. And if I cast out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore they shall be your judges. But if it is by the finger of God that I cast out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you. When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own palace, his goods are in peace; but when one stronger than he assails him and overcomes him, he takes away his armor in which he trusted, and divides his spoil. He who is not with me is against me, and he who does not gather with me scatters.”
This is the Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ.

IN today’s Gospel, we encounter Jesus Christ who heals the dumb man by casting out a demon caused his tongue mute. When the demon went out, the dumb man spoke, and the people marveled.
We can reflect on two things. First, when Jesus Christ does this miracle, the people are marveled. They’re amazed at what he has done. Surely, they’re also amazed at what the dumb man said. So, not like some of them who think negatively and accuse him that he casts out demons by Beelzebul, the prince of demons; the crowds glorify God who shows his mercy to the dumb man through Jesus Christ.
Second, positively, we may learn here how to glorify God together with the crowds and also the dumb man. The Gospel does not tell us what he speaks about. But we can imagine that the dumb speaks about his happiness due to have been healed by Jesus. He glorifies God in thanksgiving for his miracle. And the crowds join with him to glorify God. Yes, exactly that all is for God’s glory.
In the Perpetual Adoration of the Eucharist, we adore Jesus Christ who bestows freedom by loosening the tongue of the dumb man so that we can glorify God our creator. Only the Satan who does not want God to be glorified and who wants to keep mankind in the chains of sin.
Let’s pray: Lord Jesus Christ, we glorify God the Father in you. In our lives, we want always to glorify God for the wonders of his creation and all the good things he has done for us. All is for God’s glory alone. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit now and forever. Amen.
