Memorial of Saint Jerome, priest and doctor of the Church
Dear my friends,
Here is the Gospel for us today according to St. Luke 10: 13-16
Jesus said to them, “Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty deeds done in your midst had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would long ago have repented, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. But it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment than for you. And as for you, Capernaum, ‘Will you be exalted to heaven? You will go down to the netherworld.'” Whoever listens to you listens to me. Whoever rejects you rejects me. And whoever rejects me rejects the one who sent me.”
This is the Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ.

THE topic we can reflect from the Gospel today is about willingly to appreciate Jesus Christ as the best God’s gift in our life. We then use the best of our abilities for his glory.
Often we read in the Gospel Jesus Christ as the miracle worker, curing the sick, raising the dead. But now we see the flipside of these miracles: he demands a response from us. It’s not enough that we stare in wonderment at his mighty deeds. It also demands repentance and conversion.
In the Perpetual Adoration of the Eucharist we not only encounter Jesus Christ but also adore him lovingly. This should prompt us to strive for holiness, for continual conversion of heart, and for zeal to build the Church. How have we responded to God’s grace and favor in our life? How many of each of us actually changed our lives after our encounter with Christ?
Let’s pray: Lord Jesus Christ, help us to appreciate your gifts and use them to the best of our ability for your glory. May we understand that obedience to your authority is a means of growth in humility and holiness. Change our life in your merciful love, now and forever. Amen.
