The Eighth Week in Ordinary Time
Dear my friends,
Here is the Gospel for us today according to St. Mark 11:27-33
Jesus and his disciples returned once more to Jerusalem. As he was walking in the Temple, the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders came to him and said, “By what authority are you doing these things? Who gave you this authority to do them?” Jesus said to them, “I will ask you one question; answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things. Did the baptism of John come from heaven, or was it of human origin? Answer me.” They argued with one another, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ he will say, ‘Why then did you not believe him?’ But shall we say, ‘Of human origin’?” – they were afraid of the crowd, for all regarded John as truly a prophet. So they answered Jesus, “We do not know.” And Jesus said to them, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I am doing these things.”
This is the Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ.

HOW often are we like the leaders of the Jews? We know the truth about Jesus Christ but we do not believe in him. We know the power of the Eucharist and Adoration but we do not come to receive and worship him.
Jesus Christ really presents in the Eucharist and gives his body and blood for our salvation. Do we ever go to receive the Sacrament of Eucharist with a real desire to trust in him and to change our life?
We also know that Jesus Christ presents day and night in the Perpetual Adoration of the Eucharist, but we do not come to worship him. Truly we know, but we are unwilling to accept the truth.
Let’s pray: Lord Jesus Christ, at times we know what your will for us is, but it costs us greatly to put it into practice. Sometimes we are too worried about what others think and say. We are also afraid of the consequences. Grant us a spirit of sincerity and strength always to accept and follow your will now and forever. Amen.
