Twenty-Eighth Week in Ordinary Time

Dear my friends,
Here is the Gospel for us today according to St. Luke 11: 37-41

After Jesus had spoken, a Pharisee invited him to dine at his home. He entered and reclined at table to eat. The Pharisee was amazed to see that he did not observe the prescribed washing before the meal. The Lord said to him, “Oh you Pharisees! Although you cleanse the outside of the cup and the dish, inside you are filled with plunder and evil. You fools! Did not the maker of the outside also make the inside? But as to what is within, give alms, and behold, everything will be clean for you.”

This is the Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ.

FROM the Gospel today we can say that we have to clean the inside of the cup of our hearts. It is about the inside rather than the outside one.

Jesus Christ wants us to allow our hearts and minds to be educated and formed by his law of love. We must go on to see his love and let it purify our hearts.

The law of love is the most important of all the commandments of the Lord. There is no other commandment greater than the love of God and neighbors. Surely, living these two greatest commandments purifies and cleanses the inside of the cup of our hearts.

In the Perpetual Adoration of the Eucharist while adoring Jesus Christ, we learn to love God and our neighbors. There we clean the inside of the cup of our hearts, then our hearts will be clean. Do we let Jesus Christ purify our hearts?

Let’s pray: Lord Jesus Christ, we want our hearts always to be focused on you. But we can’t do it alone. So we need your guidance. Teach us how to love you, how to worship and serve you and our neighbors now and forever. Amen.
