Fifteenth Week in Ordinary Time
Dear my friends,
Here is the Gospel for us today according to St. Matthew 11: 28-30
Jesus said: “Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for your selves. For my yoke is easy and my burden light.”
This is the Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ.

THREE things we can reflect on the Gospel reading today. These are about coming to Jesus Christ as he says, “Come to Me”; then we learn from him about humilty; and we will find rest in him.
We come to Jesus with all our daily burdens of life. If we are burdened with our patterns of sin and weaknesses of character that affect our vocation then come to Jesus. He will set us free.
He calls us not only to come to him but also to learn from him. What can we learn from him? We learn to be meek and to be humble as he is meek and humble of heart. Surely, if we learn from him, he will always guide us and leads to our happiness and fulfillment, even when it entails the cross.
When we come to him and learn from him then we will find rest for ourselves. We will find peace of soul, joy and profound happiness. It is the rest that we all long for.
In the Perpetual Adoration of the Eucharist, we come to Jesus Christ, learn from him and adore him lovingly. We then will find rest for ourselves. Do we freely come to him and learn from him in order to find rest for ourselves? Do we bring others come to him and learn from him that they find peace of soul as well?
Let’s pray: Lord Jesus Christ, you do not promise to take away our burdens, trials, and sufferings. You promise that if we take your yoke upon ourselves, you give and guarantee the joy of our life. Help us to take on your yoke now and forever. Amen.
