Tenth Week in Ordinary Time
Dear my friends,
Here is the Gospel for us today according to St. Matthew 5:20-26
“I tell you, unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will not enter into the kingdom of heaven. You have heard that it was said to your ancestors, ‘You shall not kill; and whoever kills will be liable to judgment.’ But I say to you, whoever is angry with his brother will be liable to judgment, and whoever says to his brother, ‘Raqa,’ will be answerable to the Sanhedrin, and whoever says, ‘You fool,’ will be liable to fiery Gehenna. Therefore, if you bring your gift to the altar, and there recall that your brother has anything against you, leave your gift there at the altar, go first and be reconciled with your brother, and then come and offer your gift. Settle with your opponent quickly while on the way to court with him. Otherwise your opponent will hand you over to the judge, and the judge will hand you over to the guard, and you will be thrown into prison. Amen, I say to you, you will not be released until you have paid the last penny.”
This is the Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ.

JESUS says, “I tell you, unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will not enter into the kingdom of heaven.” What does it mean for us?
Jesus Christ invites us to always be ready to examine ourselves, before him and with an awareness of our limitations. He also calls us to have integrity.
Integrity means being a person with only one face, a person who is the same on the inside and on the outside. It is foundational for our holiness. There no holiness without integrity.
In the Perpetual Adoration of the Eucharist, while worshipping Jesus Christ we want to pursue holiness. So we should never tolerate duplicity of any kind in our behavior.
Let’s pray: Lord Jesus Christ, thank you for this time we can now spend our time with you. Help us to keep away from hypocrisy and seek true holiness. May we disappear and you appear more and more in our life so that, with a holiness that is genuine, humble and true, we will always be an instrument for the salvation of all people now and forever. Amen.
