Fifth Week of Easter

Dear my friends,
Here is the Gospel for us today according to St. John 14: 27-31a

Jesus said to his disciples: “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give it to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid. You heard me tell you, ‘I am going away and I will come back to you.’ If you loved me, you would rejoice that I am going to the Father; for the Father is greater than I. And now I have told you this before it happens, so that when it happens you may believe. I will no longer speak much with you, for the ruler of the world is coming. He has no power over me, but the world must know that I love the Father and that I do just as the Father has commanded me.”

This is the Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ.

JESUS Christ said to his disciples, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give it to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid.” Now it’said to each of us.

Jesus Christ grants us true peace. His great peace comes as a consequence of meditating on and living out who we really are. First of all we are God’s creatures.

God created us in his image and likeness. We came from God, and he is inviting us to return to him and be happy and in peace with him for all eternity.

In the Perpetual Adoration of the Eucharist we are worshipping Jesus Christ who grants us true peace. In him we are adopted as the children of God. We call him God our Father.

Let’s pray: Lord Jesus Christ, thank you for granting us true peace and the opportunity to be with you in this Adoration. Lord, there are things in life that attract us, but you attract us more. We hope in you, and we love you now and forever. Amen.
