Twenty-eighth Week in Ordinary Time
Dear my friends,
Here is the Gospel for us today according to Luke 11:29-32
When the crowds were increasing, he began to say, “This generation is an evil generation; it seeks a sign, but no sign shall be given to it except the sign of Jonah. For as Jonah became a sign to the men of Nineveh, so will the Son of man be to this generation. The queen of the South will arise at the judgment with the men of this generation and condemn them; for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and behold, something greater than Solomon is here. The men of Nineveh will arise at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and behold, something greater than Jonah is here.
This is the Gospel of the Lord.
Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ.

THE Gospel today proclaims about Jesus who gives proof for his claims that he is God’s sign. He tells his listeners that they need no further evidence from heaven than his own person.
He teaches them about the Ninevites recognized God’s warning when Jonah spoke to them, and they repented. Jonah was God’s sign and his message was the message of God for the people of Nineveh.
In the Perpetual Adoration of the Eucharist we worship Jesus Christ has come to set us free from slavery to sin. He calls us to seek him with true repentance and humility.
Let’s pray: Lord Jesus Christ, give us a heart that loves what is good and in accord with your will. Fill us with your wisdom that we understand your ways now and forever. Amen.
