After Epiphany of the Lord
Dear my friends,
Here is the Gospel for us today according to St. Luke 5:12-16
While he was in one of the cities, there came a man full of leprosy; and when he saw Jesus, he fell on his face and besought him, “Lord, if you will, you can make me clean.” And he stretched out his hand, and touched him, saying, “I will; be clean.” And immediately the leprosy left him. And he charged him to tell no one; but “go and show yourself to the priest, and make an offering for your cleansing, as Moses commanded, for a proof to the people.” But so much the more the report went abroad concerning him; and great multitudes gathered to hear and to be healed of their infirmities. But he withdrew to the wilderness and prayed.
This is the Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ.

THE Gospel today teaches us to seek Jesus Christ with expectant faith as the man full of leprosy. From his experience we believe that no one who seek Jesus Christ is refused his help.
We can also learn from the leper who approaches Jesus confidently and humbly, expecting that Jesus can and will heal him. Jesus not only grants the man his request, but he demonstrates the personal love, compassion, and tenderness of God in his physical touch.
In the Perpetual Adoration of the Euchatist, while worshipping Jesus Christ, we meet Jesus who expresses the love and mercy of God for us. There he touches us and makes us clean, not only physically but spiritually as well.
Let’s pray: Lord Jesus Christ, you are always ready to show us your mercy and to free us from whatever makes us unclean, unapproachable, or unloving. Zeal our hearts with your love and make us clean and whole in body, mind, and spirit. May we never doubt your love nor cease to witness others of your mercy and compassion now and forever. Amen.
