Seventh Sunday of Easter
Dear my friends,
Here is the Gospel for us today according to St. John 17: 20-26
Lifting up his eyes to heaven, Jesus prayed saying: “Holy Father, I pray not only for them, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, so that they may all be one, as you, Father, are in me and I in you, that they also may be in us, that the world may believe that you sent me. And I have given them the glory you gave me, so that they may be one, as we are one, I in them and you in me, that they may be brought to perfection as one, that the world may know that you sent me, and that you loved them even as you loved me. Father, they are your gift to me. I wish that where I am they also may be with me, that they may see my glory that you gave me, because you loved me before the foundation of the world. Righteous Father, the world also does not know you, but I know you, and they know that you sent me. I made known to them your name and I will make it known, that the love with which you loved me may be in them and I in them.”
This is the Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ.

IN the Gospel today, we encounter with Jesus Christ who prayes for us all. We know that the heart of Jesus’ prayer is unity with the Father and one another.
He has prayed this prayer as the high priest at his last supper with his disciples. He said in prayer, “Holy Father, I pray … that they may all be one, as you, Father, are in me and I in you, that they also may be in us, that the world may believe that you sent me.”
Truly, it reveals the heart of Jesus Christ who wants us to be united in him and his Father so that we are one. It is about love and unity he longed for all who would believe in him and follow him. It is about the unity among all Christians who trust in him throughout the world and to the end of the ages.
How great he is and how amazing is that long times before we trust in him, he has prayed us first. He has prayed for each one of us for the sake of our salvation.
He wants us to be one as he and his Father are one so that we can witnes as his followers. Also today he entrusts us this task to make him known and loved.
What can we do today for making Jesus’ prayer come true? First, we can sow seeds of friendship and unity when rivalry and division marked our society. Second, in the world marked by hatred, envy, jealousy and violence, we can sow our mercy, love and forgiveness.
In the Perpetual Adoration of the Eucharist we worship Jesus Christ who has included each one of us in his high priestly prayer at the Last Supper. There we pray that we may grow in unity together as sisters and brothers. We join our prayer with the prayer of Jesus for the unity of all.
Let’s pray: Lord Jesus Christ, you call us to be one in the unity of love each other in our world today which is still wounded by hatred, division, jealousy, and envy, even among your followers. Help us to grow in sister-brotherly love, unity and reconciliation with one another now and forever. Amen.
