Twenty-second Week in Ordinary Time
Dear my friends,
Here is the Gospel for us today according toLuke 4:38-44
And Jesus arose and left the synagogue, and entered Simon’s house. Now Simon’s mother-in-law was ill with a high fever, and they besought him for her. And he stood over her and rebuked the fever, and it left her; and immediately she rose and served them. Now when the sun was setting, all those who had any that were sick with various diseases brought them to him; and he laid his hands on every one of them and healed them. And demons also came out of many, crying, “You are the Son of God!” But he rebuked them, and would not allow them to speak, because they knew that he was the Christ. And when it was day he departed and went into a lonely place. And the people sought him and came to him, and would have kept him from leaving them; but he said to them, “I must preach the good news of the kingdom of God to the other cities also; for I was sent for this purpose.” And he was preaching in the synagogues of Judea.
This is the Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ.

THE Gospel today tells us how Jesus helped and set people free from their troubles. They freely brought their troubles to Jesus and they found him ready and able to deal with any difficulty, affliction, and sickness which they encounter. He laid his hands on every one of them and healed them.
So they would have kept Jesus from leaving them; but he said to them, “I must preach the good news of the kingdom of God to the other cities also; for I was sent for this purpose.”
Jesus wants to set us free as well today. We may trust him for no one who asked Jesus for help was left disappointed. He came to set us free from bondage to sin and evil.
In the Perpetual Adoration of the Eucharist while worshipping Jesus Christ, we seek freedom in him and trust in his power to set us free. He never tires of hearing and answering our pleas and prayers.
Let’s pray: Lord Jesus Christ, you are ever ready to give to those who earnestly seek you out. We approach and worship you with expectant faith. Please, be the Lord and Healer in our personal life, family, and community. May nothing hinder us from giving ourselves wholly to you and to your service forever and ever. Amen.
