Twenty-fifth Week in Ordinary Time
Dear my friends,
Here is the Gospel for us today according to Luke 9:43-45
And all were astonished at the majesty of God. But while they were all marveling at everything he did, he said to his disciples, “Let these words sink into your ears; for the Son of man is to be delivered into the hands of men.” But they did not understand this saying, and it was concealed from them, that they should not perceive it; and they were afraid to ask him about this saying.
This is the Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ.

WE read again the Gospel tells about Jesus who warns his disciples and also each of us that his way to victory and glory is through his cross. Jesus prophesies concerning his own betrayal and crucifixion. Unfortunately, it does not make any sense to the disciples.
The disciples can’t understand how the cross can bring victory and lead to new life and freedom in Jesus Christ. They do not understand that the way to victory over sin and death would be through the cross and resurrection of Christ. We can not share in his glory without the cross.
In the Perpetual Adoration of the Eucharist we worship Jesus Christ who is to be delivered into the hands of men. We learn to grasp his suffering and crucifixion which we often reject. It is the consequences of accepting and trusting in Jesus Christ.
Let’s pray: Lord Jesus Christ, by your cross you have redeemed us and the world as well. In your suffering and cross you reveal your glory and triumph over sin and death. Help us to see your glory and victory in the cross and to conform our lives to your will. May we follow in your way of love and holiness now and forever. Amen.
