Twenty-fourth Week in Ordinary Time
Memorial of Saints Cornelius, Pope, and Cyprian, Bishop, Martyrs
Dear my friends,
Here is the Gospel for us today according to St. Luke 8:1-3
Jesus journeyed from one town and village to another, preaching and proclaiming the good news of the kingdom of God. Accompanying him were the Twelve and some women who had been cured of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary, called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had gone out, Joanna, the wife of Herod’s steward Chuza, Susanna, and many others who provided for them out of their resources.
This is the Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ.

THE Gospel today tells us about Jesus’ universal charity. He journeyed from one town and village to another, preaching and proclaiming the good news of the kingdom of God.
Jesus chose his twelve apostles from many different backgrounds. Matthew was a tax collector. Peter, James and John were fisherman. Bartholomew was very skeptic but honest. Judas Iscariot was more “sophisticated” with his political character. They accompanied him.
Not only did he choose men to be his close collaborators, but also some women supported him. They provided for him out of their resources. They were Mary Magdalene, Joanna, the wife of Herod’s steward, Susanna, and many others.
In the Perpetual Adoration of the Eucharist we adore Jesus Christ who has assigned us different roles, but he saved and transformed our lives all the same. We are called to build the Kingdom at all levels of our secularized world. Do we realize that he calls us to accompany him?
Let’s pray: Lord Jesus Christ, you give us the example of unconditional love for each and every person. When you are at the center of any relationship, differences can not only be overcome, it can become points of strength as well. You do not care what our background is or how many sins we have committed. Your mercy is infinite and everlasting! Thank you for your love. We beg you to teach us to love without limits now and forever. Amen.
