Twenty-fifth Week in Ordinary Time

Dear my friends,
Here is the Gospel for us today according to Luke 9:1-6

And he called the twelve together and gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases, and he sent them out to preach the kingdom of God and to heal. And he said to them, “Take nothing for your journey, no staff, nor bag, nor bread, nor money; and do not have two tunics. And whatever house you enter, stay there, and from there depart. And wherever they do not receive you, when you leave that town shake off the dust from your feet as a testimony against them.” And they departed and went through the villages, preaching the gospel and healing everywhere.

This is the Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ.

THE Gospel today tells us that God’s word has power to change and transform our lives. Jesus Christ gives his disciples authority over all  and diseases. He gives power and strength to those who rely on him alone.

It means that Jesus wants us to be dependent on him and not on outselves. He wills to work in and through each of us for his glory.

In the Perpetual Adoration of the Eucharist, we worship Jesus Christ who entrusts us with his gifts and talents. Let’s eager to place ourselves at his service, to do whatever he bids us, and to witness his truth and saving power to whomever he sends us.

Let’s pray: Lord Jesus Christ, make us a channel of your grace and healing love that others may find life and freedom in you. Free us from all other attachments that we may joyfully pursue the things of heaven. May we witness to others the joy of the gospel both in word and deed now and forever. Amen.
