“New Technologies, New Relationships. Promoting a Culture of Respect, Dialogue, and Friendship” is the Pope’s theme for the 43rd World Day of Social Communications 2009, reports VIS, the Vatican Information Service. The message will be published on January 24, Feast of Saint Francis de Sales, patron of journalists. Archbishop Claudio Maria Celli, President of the Pontifical Council for Social Communications, announced the theme for the Papal message and said that “the media can be of great help in favoring a climate of dialogue and trust”. The World Day of Social Communications will be celebrated in almost all countries on Sunday, May 31, 2009.
