Thirty-Second Week in Ordinary Time

Dear my friends,

Here is the Gospel for us today according to St. Luke 17:1-6

Jesus said to his disciples, “Things that cause sin will inevitably occur, but woe to the person through whom they occur. It would be better for him if a millstone were put around his neck and he be thrown into the sea than for him to cause one of these little ones to sin. Be on your guard! If your brother sins, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him.

And if he wrongs you seven times in one day and returns to you seven times saying, ‘I am sorry,’ you should forgive him.” And the apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith.” The Lord replied, “If you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you would say to (this) mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.

This is the Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ.

What does Jesus Christ mean when he says,  “If your brother sins, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him. And if he wrongs you seven times in one day and returns to you seven times saying, ‘I am sorry,’ you should forgive him”?

First, He wants us that we must always fight sin in our life although it is sometimes so difficult. In fact, sin is our greatest enemy. Second, we must share his mercy by forgiving others.

How must we fight sin? We have to do everything with the heart of Jesus Christ, a heart of love. We must be ready to forgive the sinner and never judging their heart. We must forgive unceasingly.

In the Perpetual Adoration of the Eucharist while adoring Jesus Christ we beg him grace to fight sin. We also ask him strength to be able to forgive others.

Let’s pray: Lord Jesus Christ, give us, the courage to fight sin in our life. Grant us your heart, so we can fight and suffer without cowardice, even if others do not understand or thank us. Help us to share your mercy and forgive others always now and forever. Amen.
