The Octave of Easter
The Day of Prayer for Priest
Dear my friends,
Here is the Gospel for us today according to St. Mark 16:9-15
Now when he rose early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, from whom he had cast out seven demons. She went and told those who had been with him, as they mourned and wept. But when they heard that he was alive and had been seen by her, they would not believe it. After this he appeared in another form to two of them, as they were walking into the country. And they went back and told the rest, but they did not believe them. Afterward he appeared to the eleven themselves as they sat at table; and he upbraided them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they had not believed those who saw him after he had risen. And he said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to the whole creation.”
This is the Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ.

To his disciples the Risen Jesus Christ said, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to the whole creation.” It is also intended to each of us today. So, let’s ask him the grace of a profound apostolic zeal.
First of all it means that we must be willing to give the world a joyful witness to the Resurrection. The source of our joy is in the Lord himself, not in the hands of our adversaries.
Secondly, we are called to be witnesses to his love and mercy. Our encounter of faith with the Risen Lord cannot be kept solely for the private sphere of our life. Rather, it needs to draw us to be zealous in proclaiming him to others. We have to proclaim him to as many others as possible.
In the Perpetual Adoration of the Eucharist, while worshipping Jesus Christ, we ask him to grant us the grace of a profound apostolic zeal. We pray that his love and mercy can be experienced to all humankind.
Let’s pray: Lord Jesus Christ, we have to go into the whole world and proclaim the Gospel to every creature. Help us to realize that our past sinfulness and disbelief do not excuse us from this mission. Thank you Lord for your love and mercy, even, you send us to be your witness now and forever. Amen.
