First Friday of Desember
First Week of Advent

Dear my friends,
Here is the Gospel for us today according to St. Matthew 9:27-31

And as Jesus passed on from there, two blind men followed him, crying aloud, “Have mercy on us, Son of David.” When he entered the house, the blind men came to him; and Jesus said to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They said to him, “Yes, Lord.” Then he touched their eyes, saying, “According to your faith be it done to you.” And their eyes were opened. And Jesus sternly charged them, “See that no one knows it.” But they went away and spread his fame through all that district.

This is the Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ.

THE Gospel today reminds us that there are any blind-spots in our lives which keep us from recognizing God’s power and mercy. So we are invited to learn from two blind men who believe in Jesus Christ.

In their blindness, they come to Jesus Christ with confident and expectant faith. When they hear that Jesus is passing their way, they follow him and beg for his mercy. Jesus shows his mercy to them for they recognize their need for his forgiveness and healing.

Just one question Jesus ask to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” And they answer him with confident faith and expectant hope. Jesus strengthens their faith and hope and trust in God’s mercy. He touches their eyes, and heals them.

In the Perpetual Adoration of the Eucharist, while worshipping Jesus Christ we say, “Yes, Lord. I Believe in You!” There, we express our faith that opens the way for us to see the power of God’s kingdom and to experience his healing presence in our lives. We worship him with confident faith and expectant hope for we believe that in Jesus we see the fulness of God’s mercy and the power of his kingdom.

Let’s pray: Lord Jesus Christ, transform our lives for we put our hope and trust in you. Please, change and transform our lives and set us free to live as the sons and daughters of our heavenly Father. Help us to draw near to you with faith and trust in your saving power and mercy now and forever. Amen.
