The Third Week in Ordinary Time
Dear my friends,
Here is the Gospel for us today according to St. Mark 4:35-41
On that day, when evening had come, he said to them, “Let us go across to the other side.” And leaving the crowd, they took him with them in the boat, just as he was. And other boats were with him. And a great storm of wind arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that the boat was already filling. But he was in the stern, asleep on the cushion; and they woke him and said to him, “Teacher, do you not care if we perish?” And he awoke and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. He said to them, “Why are you afraid? Have you no faith?” And they were filled with awe, and said to one another, “Who then is this, that even wind and sea obey him?”
This is the Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ.

THE Gospel today notes that Jesus says to the disciples, “Let us go across to the other side.” What does it mean for us?
This verse may be interprated that Jesus reminds us of another shore that is our home. We know that we will not remain on this earth forever, so we must go across to other better harbor of our life. Jesus Christ shows us how to get to that place.
First of all we have to take him into our boat of life and let him show what we must do in our life by putting out into the deep with him. Secondly, we must realize that taking him in our boat of life is not a guarantee that every things will be running well smoothly. There will be a great storm of wind arises, and the waves beat into the boat of our life. Third, we believe that Jesus Christ has the ultimate victory.
In the Perpetual Adoration of the Eucharist we worship Jesus Christ who strengthens us in continuing to sail our boat of life in the midst of the storm. While worshipping him, we are giving him the total control over our destiny because we trust him there is no other safer hand.
Let’s pray: Lord Jesus Christ, we trust that you are working in the midst of our difficulties. In the midst of trials, you draw us closer to you. Don’t let our confidence in you sleep when times get rough because we believe Lord that you are in our boat of life. We trust that you will lead us, sinful though we are, to your good harbor. Help us to grow in faith now and forever. Amen.
