Fourteenth Week in Ordinary Time
Dear my friends,
Here is the Gospel for us today according to St. Matthew 10:1-7
Jesus summoned his twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits to drive them out and to cure every disease and every illness. The names of the Twelve Apostles are these: first, Simon called Peter, and his brother Andrew; James, the son of Zebedee, and his brother John; Philip and Bartholomew, Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James, the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddeus; Simon the Cananean, and Judas Iscariot who betrayed him. Jesus sent out these twelve after instructing them thus, “Do not go into pagan territory or enter a Samaritan town. Go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. As you go, make this proclamation: ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’”
The Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ.

JESUS Christ calls the Twelve Apostles to build his Kingdom, to spread the faith by word and deed. He gives them authority over unclean spirits to drive them out and to cure every disease and every illness. In the Twelve Apostles we find the model of every call of Christ to do the same to build his Kingdom.
He calls the Twelve Apostles by name. We are also called by name. It means that he knows us well, including all our defects and weaknesses. He chooses and calls us freely.
In the Perpetual Adoration of the Eucharist we worship Jesus Christ who calls us to build his Kingdom today. We joyfully offer our free response to his calling. Do we realize that he has called each one of us to build his Kingdom and joyfully respond itu freely?
Let’s pray: Lord Jesus Christ, you call each one of us personally. Now, we bring ourselves into your presence. Grant us the grace to be generous and trustful concerning your plan for us. May our heart always be confident and generous in responding to your voice now and forever. Amen.
