Twenty-Ninth Sunday in Ordinary Time
Dear my friends,
Here is the Gospel for us today according to St. Luke 18:1-8
Then Jesus told them a parable about the necessity for them to pray always without becoming weary. He said, “There was a judge in a certain town who neither feared God nor respected any human being. And a widow in that town used to come to him and say, ‘Render a just decision for me against my adversary.’ For a long time the judge was unwilling, but eventually he thought, ‘While it is true that I neither fear God nor respect any human being, because this widow keeps bothering me I shall deliver a just decision for her lest she finally come and strike me.'” The Lord said, “Pay attention to what the dishonest judge says. Will not God then secure the rights of his chosen ones who call out to him day and night? Will he be slow to answer them? I tell you, he will see to it that justice is done for them speedily. But when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?”
This is the Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ.

USING the parable about a judge in a certain town who neither feared God nor respected any human being, Jesus Christ wants us to trust in God as the best and merciful Judge for us. Even, God is so much more.
First of all, God is a loving merciful Father and a dedicated, unconditional savior and lover. As a loving merciful Father, God wants our trusting dependence. Jesus Christ wants us to believe in God as such.
Furthermore, Jesus Christ also wants us to pray to God unceasingly. Prayer is about giving ourselves and depending more on God. It is an act of love, self-giving. Jesus Christ wants us to continue to seek God in prayer.
In the Perpetual Adoration of the Eucharist, while adoring Jesus Christ, we learn to trust in God alone. There we seek God in prayer unceasingly for we are beloved children, for whom he died and to whom he gives everything. There too, we place all our confidence in him. Do we really believe God is all good, all-loving and all-powerful? Do we believe God cares about us?
Let’s pray: Lord Jesus Christ, help us to trust you in our everyday life. Open our heart to persevere in prayer. Grant us the humility to see how we need to pray, always and in so many ways. Increase our knowledge of your love for us now and forever. Amen.
