Second Week of Easter

Dear my friends,
Here is the Gospel for us today according to St. John 3:16-21

Jesus says to Nicodemus, “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him will not be condemned, but whoever does not believe has already been condemned, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. And this is the verdict, that the light came into the world, but people preferred darkness to light, because their works were evil. For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come toward the light, so that his works might not be exposed. But whoever lives the truth comes to the light, so that his works may be clearly seen as done in God.”

This is the Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ.

IN today’s Gospel Jesus says that God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life. Jesus Christ is God’s only Son. We are called to trust in him that we have eternal life.

How did he give us eternal life? In his cross, Jesus’ body had been physically killed through the evil decisions and cruelty of men. Through the power of the Resurrection we are journeying towards the ultimate defeat of suffering and death. The execution of Our Lord Jesus Christ was the greatest act of moral evil history can ever see, but through God’s power, it has become the source of eternal life for us all, as we now celebrate in this Easter season.

In the Perpetual Adoration of the Eucharist we are adoring Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, who folws the greatest of God’s love and mercy. He also leads us to his light, hapinnes and eternal life.

Let’s prat: Lord Jesus Christ, we long to live in your light. Banish from our soul all darkness of sin or disbelief. May we be your witness now and forever. Amen.
