Twenty-seventh Week in Ordinary Time
Dear my friends,
Here is the Gospel for us today according to Luke 11:27-28
As he said this, a woman in the crowd raised her voice and said to him, “Blessed is the womb that bore you, and the breasts that you sucked!” But he said, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it!”
This is the Gospel of the Lord.
Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ.

READING the Gospel today makes me to remember St. Mary’s canticle: All generations will call me blessed (Luke 1:48). The Gospel today tells us that a woman in the crowd raises her voice and says to Jesus, “Blessed is the womb that bore you, and the breasts that you sucked!” Of course, Jesus does not deny the truth of the blessing she pronounces.
Then Jesus teaches her by pointing to the source of all true blessedness or happiness is the union with God in heart, mind, and will. Mother Mary humbly submittes herself to the miraculous plan of God for the incarnation of his only begotten Son in her womb, by declaring: I am the handmaid of the Lord; let it be done to me according to your word (Luke 1:38). She hears the word spoken to her by the angel and she both believes and keeps it as well.
In the Perpetual Adoration of the Eucharist we are truly blessed because we know our God personally by adoring Jesus Christ. There we find joy in hearing and obeying his word.
Let’s pray: Lord Jesus Christ, our goal in life, the very reason we are created in the first place, is for union with God. We are made for God and our hearts are restless until they rest in him. Thank you for choosing us to follow you and who let us enter into a new family, a family of saints here on earth and in heaven. May we always hunger for God and for his word now and forever. Amen.
