Tenth Week in Ordinary Time
Memorial of Saint Barnabas, Apostle
Dear my friends,
Here is the Gospel for us today according to St. Matthew 10:7-13
Jesus Christ says, “And preach as you go, saying, `The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, cast out demons. You received without paying, give without pay. Take no gold, nor silver, nor copper in your belts, no bag for your journey, nor two tunics, nor sandals, nor a staff; for the laborer deserves his food. And whatever town or village you enter, find out who is worthy in it, and stay with him until you depart. As you enter the house, salute it. And if the house is worthy, let your peace come upon it; but if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you.”
This is the Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ.

IN today’s Gospel Jesus Christ reminds us that the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand. The Kingdom of Heaven is the Kingdom of God.
As being proclaimed in the Gospel today, the Kingdom of Heaven is marked by the goodness. It marked by the healing power and mercy of God to the weary and oppressed. It has power to set us free from sin, sickness, fear, and oppression.
Now, the Kingdom of Heaven is not about what but who. So the Kingdom of Heaven is Jesus Christ himself who has freed us from anything that keeps us from loving him and our neighbor with joy and confidence. It is people who freely submit to God as the King in the spirit of communion of love and mercy marked by sharing generously what God has given to each one of us. We have freely received, so we freely give.
In the Perpetual Adoration of the Eucharist we worship Jesus Christ who offers the Kingdom of Heaven through and in his life. It makes us pass on to others without expecting a favor in return. It encourges us serve others full of charity and peace.
Let’s pray: Lord Jesus Christ, thank you for your love and mercy which present the Kingdom of Heaven. May the joy and truth of the Kingdom of Heaven transform our life. Help us to proclaim it in our daily life now and forever. Amen.
