The Fourth Week of Advent
The Mother’s Day
Dear my friends,
Here is the Gospel for us today according to St. Luke 1:46-56
And Mary said, “My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for he has regarded the low estate of his handmaiden. For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed; for he who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is his name. And his mercy is on those who fear him from generation to generation. He has shown strength with his arm, he has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts, he has put down the mighty from their thrones, and exalted those of low degree; he has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich he has sent empty away. He has helped his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy, as he spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and to his posterity for ever.” And Mary remained with her about three months, and returned to her home.
This is the Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ.

THE Gospel today offers us a model of faith flows from the life of Mary, the Mother of Jesus Christ. In Indonesia, today is a special day for all moms. Today is the Mother’s Day.
Not only all moms but also each of us must learn from Mother Mary in accepting her mission with uncompromising faith and obedience. Mother Mary acted with unwavering trust and faith for she believed that God would fulfill the word he had promised.
In the Perpetual Adoration of the Eucharist, while worshipping Jesus Christ, we pray that we are filled with the Holy Spirit and with a joyful anticipation of the fulfillment of God’s promise to give a Savior for us. We also pray for our mother who teaches us to trust in God.
